Our visitors' dog enjoys a run in the orchids with Beano, our dog.
Several of our neighbours' vineyards are heavily sprayed with herbicide. They offer no wild flowers and no beneficial insects.
We have about sixteen species of wild orchids at Lestevenie. We do all we can to encourage them. They even grow in between the vines rows.
The job of the moment is to remove all the buds and shoots that are growing in the wrong place, round the bottom of the vine stem. Backbreaking!
