The vines have all had their branch ( latte ),tied to the wires and their buds have opened. Above shows the Merlot three weeks ago and below are the same vines today. They are at a very vulnerable moment with flowers just showing. The threats now are mildew, odium and frost. We can spray against the first two with a sulphur mix. The last is highly unlikely but given the unpredictable weather patterns of the last few years who knows?
